# WattCoin > WattCoin (Ваткоїн, Watt Coin) is an energy monetary standard: a monetary system in which money is backed by electricity. 1 WattCoin = 1 MWh = 1,000 evans; 1 evan = 1 kWh. The reserve is 100 % (≈90 % electricity bonds, ≈10 % USDT). The total supply is capped by the world's total final energy consumption for the previous year (all energy carriers, in MWh). WattCoin is designed first as a store of value (a deposit instrument), not a speculative asset. Official site: https://watt-coin.org/ (Ukrainian), https://watt-coin.org/en/ (English). WattCoin speaks as a monetary system, not on behalf of a person. ## Key facts - Unit: 1 WattCoin = 1 MWh of electricity = 1,000 evans; 1 evan = 1 kWh (the unit on a household meter). Amounts are accurate to 3 decimal places of an evan. - Price: coin price = energy price × the WattCoin factor (a proprietary formula of the standard; its parameters are not published). The factor starts at 1, so the floor price of a coin is the value of 1 MWh. - Energy price: the average price of 1 kWh on the power exchanges of the EU and Ukraine over the last 365 days. Current reference: $0.1616 per kWh → floor of $161.60 per coin. - Supply cap: the WattCoin Federation cap equals world total final energy consumption for the previous year — electricity, gas, oil products, coal, heat and bioenergy converted to MWh (125,750,000,000 coins = MWh for 2024, source: IEA World Energy Outlook 2025, Table A.24). A national WattCoin is capped by that country's final energy consumption. The coin price is set by the electricity price. - Reserve: 100 %. Every incoming dollar goes into the reserve; the reserve always equals the sum required to redeem all coins in circulation. - Price mechanics: each next coin bought costs more, each next coin sold costs less; the rate changes only on whole coins (evans inside a coin do not move it). A large seller (a whale) lowers the price only for himself and cannot profit at the expense of small holders. No leverage, no lending, market size is fully visible. - Federation: national WattCoins (e.g. WattCoin Ukraine, WattCoin Poland) are launched by local operators under one standard and licence. Participants: generators (power plants, households with solar/wind), consumers of electricity, and coin holders. - Status: in development. The site provides a demo exchange, a demo wallet, calculators and the Whitepaper. The coin has not been issued yet; nothing on the site is investment advice. ## Main pages - [Home (EN)](https://watt-coin.org/en/): what WattCoin is in one screen - [Головна (UA)](https://watt-coin.org/): Ukrainian home page - [About the project](https://watt-coin.org/en/about/): what the coin is made of and what is already built - [The idea](https://watt-coin.org/en/the-idea/): why electricity is the measure of value - [The money problem](https://watt-coin.org/en/money-problem/): fiat inflation, crypto scarcity, whales - [Issuance](https://watt-coin.org/en/issuance/): supply cap = final energy consumption - [Evans](https://watt-coin.org/en/evans/): 1 evan = 1 kWh - [Price formula](https://watt-coin.org/en/price-formula/): energy price × WattCoin factor - [Reserve](https://watt-coin.org/en/reserve/): 100 % reserve structure - [Energy price](https://watt-coin.org/en/energy-price/): EU + Ukraine kWh price, 365-day average - [How it works](https://watt-coin.org/en/how-it-works/): buying, holding and selling a coin - [Whale protection](https://watt-coin.org/en/whale-protection/): why a large seller cannot crash the rate - [Market scenarios](https://watt-coin.org/en/market-scenarios/): whale sale, energy crisis, new energy consumption - [Federation](https://watt-coin.org/en/federation/): national WattCoins under one standard - [WattCoin in your country](https://watt-coin.org/en/launch-wattcoin/): operator licence - [Founders](https://watt-coin.org/en/founders/): the founders’ pool ## Tools - [Demo exchange](https://watt-coin.org/en/exchange/): terminal for trading coins and evans - [Demo wallet](https://watt-coin.org/en/demo-wallet/): storage, transfers, paying for electricity in evans ## Documents - [Whitepaper 3.2](https://watt-coin.org/en/white-paper/): official technical paper (web + PDF) - [Whitepaper PDF (EN)](https://watt-coin.org/wp-content/themes/wattcoin2027/assets/docs/WattCoin-Whitepaper-3.2-en.pdf) - [Whitepaper PDF (UA)](https://watt-coin.org/wp-content/themes/wattcoin2027/assets/docs/WattCoin-Whitepaper-3.2-uk.pdf) - [FAQ](https://watt-coin.org/en/questions/): 32 questions and answers - [Contact](https://watt-coin.org/en/contact/): write to the WattCoin team - [Legal](https://watt-coin.org/en/legal/): disclaimer, privacy, terms ## Optional - [Full text](https://watt-coin.org/llms-full.txt): the complete Whitepaper text for language models
